Big Ideas for Small Businesses
Sometimes life throws you a few challenges, with the help of the NHS at University Hospital Coventry I’ve made significant progress recovering from a stroke and now we have the pandemic, Both of these scenarios make it difficult to work for an employer, so I say it’s time for a fresh start.
After consuming multiple online courses, I’d hoped to have the answers on how to make a living from home with an online business, but I don’t.
What I need to do is put into action all of the information I’ve learned from audio books, webinars and online courses. Hopefully writing this blog will make me accountable for my actions and help me achieve my own internet based business.
I particularly liked this book by John Lamerton and as he says, “you have to put into practice the things you learn rather than enjoying it and listening to the next book”. Here are a few things I learned from the book and what I intend to do;
Action Points for a Life Style Business
The first step is Clarity:
Define clear goals aligned with what you really desire and that you’re willing to do what’s necessary to make them become reality.
I want to develop a digital product that syphons traffic from a Groupon Deal site, opens up a Chatbot that engeges with the visitor explaining the service and then invites the person to join a list. In five years time I will have a business that runs like clockwork, helps local business and provides me with an income and an interest.
Break the goal down into mini projects and work on those short projects in high intensity bursts. Each mini project is a step towards your north star.
My first mini project is being able to prove my concept by developing training videos showing how the business owner can set up and use Google Analytics to prove the amount of referal traffic they have to their website.
Make it Happen.
